FAQ's
Do
I need to be referred for treatment by a doctor?
No, anyone can phone to have an appointment for Physiotherapy.
How long will the treatments last?
Initial Consultation - 30 min
Follow-up Session - 30 min
What do I wear?
Please
be aware that you may be required to partly undress to allow an
effective assessment to be carried out. You are asked to wear
appropriate undergarments and are invited to bring shorts / vest
top if this would make you feel more comfortable.
Chaperone?
All
patients are entitled to be accompanied during their treatment
if they so wish. Please make this clear prior to treatment commencement.
Will it hurt?
You may be worried that the treatment is going to hurt and cause
more pain than is already present. We are acutely aware of the
importance of limiting the amount of pain and discomfort that
you are experiencing. Our aim is to alleviate your pain. You
may experience some treatment soreness, however if you feel this
to be excessive, either during or after the session, please inform
your therapist and your treatment will be amended accordingly.
Do you communicate with my doctor?
If
you are referred by your GP it is standard to send a letter informing
him or her of your progress. If you refer yourself
and you wish us to inform your GP we would be more than happy
to do so. If you have contacted us without a referral from your GP, we would be more than willing to liaise / contact your GP on your behalf.
